- All documents strive to validate as either HTML 4.01 Strict served as text/html or XHTML 1.1 served as application/xhtml+xml (depending on what the user agent will support)
- All documents strive to meet the requirements of the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines - Level Double-A
- All documents strive to meet the requirements of Section 508
- All CSS files have been validated using the W3C CSS validation tool
Semantics
Every document is built with the same semantic structure in mind;
- Definition list elements for specific terms and their meanings
- Heading 1 elements for the main title and slogan of the site
- Heading 2 elements for the main content's introductory heading
- Heading 3 elements for the main content's subheadings
- Paragraph elements for paragraphs
- Unordered list elements for associated items
